FAQ
Is Telegram truly end-to-end encrypted?
Only in 'Secret Chats'. Regular chats are client-server encrypted, not end-to-end. Use Secret Chats for sensitive conversations.
Why is Telegram blocked in China?
China blocks Telegram's main MTProto servers and the WebSocket endpoints. Only MTProto proxy connections (often run by volunteers) reach it from mainland.
How do Telegram channels work?
Channels are one-to-many broadcast feeds (unlimited subscribers, no member list). Public channels have a t.me/username handle; private ones are invite-only via link.
