Why AI services are region-locked

AI providers combine three signals: IP geolocation, account region (set at signup), and ASN reputation. A US datacenter IP often fails where a US residential IP succeeds. Models themselves are also rolled out region-by-region — Sora 2 launched in the US first; Gemini 2.5 Pro Veo is still US-only; GPT-5's full reasoning tier requires a Pro account on a supported IP.

Which AI service should I unblock first?

Depends on your workflow. Most users start with ChatGPT (broadest utility), then add Claude (long-form writing) and Gemini (multimodal). Sora, Midjourney, and Suno are creative-tier and worth unblocking if you publish content.

Do I need separate accounts for each region?

Generally no — you can keep one ChatGPT account and switch IPs, but OpenAI may force a re-verification. Anthropic is more strict: an account created on a blocked ASN cannot be unblocked by changing IP alone.

Why does my AI service work on WiFi but not on cellular?

Mobile carrier IPs are often pre-flagged. Try a clean residential or mobile proxy, or use WiFi calling from a different network.
