Snapp

Snapp (snapp.ir) is Iran's largest ride-hailing platform, similar to Uber. The driver app, rider app, map tiles, and surge-pricing engine all assume an Iranian IP. International users (Iranians abroad wanting to call a ride for family, or testers) see a blank map and the app refuses to locate them.

Region availability

Where this service is known to be blocked or significantly restricted.

No country-level blocks reported for this service.

If this service is blocked

  1. 1

Use an Iranian residential IP — Snapp's map provider blocks most datacenter ranges.

  2. 2

GPS and IP need to roughly align; if your IP is in Tehran but your device GPS is in Berlin, Snapp refuses the booking.

  3. 3

Expect 300-800 ms latency to Iranian endpoints.

Try the steps below in order. Most users get unblocked within minutes.

FAQ

  • Can I use Snapp from outside Iran?

The rider app opens but won't load the map. You can't book a ride without an Iranian IP and roughly matching GPS coordinates.
